We have used Pampers since our daughter was born. We loved the Swaddlers, and were crushed when she sized out of them and we had to switch to the more plasticky Baby Dry. But after all the Baby Dry diapers were pretty good. Then we found the Pampers Cruisers with the new Dry Max "technology" on sale for a great deal, so we bought two cases.
Since then, there have been complaints about the Dry Max technology causing severe rashes and even chemical burns on babies who have switched to the Pampers with Dry Max. We have used almost one full case with no real problems. Josie has had a couple minor rashes, but she is also teething, and she always gets a rash prior to cutting a new tooth, so I don't associate them with the Pampers... plus they are not severe rashes. And I have not noticed anything even resembling a chemical burn.
But thousands of people claim they have, to the point that there is even a Facebook page urging Pampers to return to their old formula, which is nearing on 6000 fans. This has resulted in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission launching an investigation of the complaints, with the cooperation of Pampers. This investigation is currently underway.
For their part, Pampers has denied any link between rashes or burns and their new diaper, and has said the only actual difference between the new and old Pampers is the design, not the chemicals involved.
What do you think? Have any of you Pampers users noticed any rashes since switching to the Dry Max? Do you think this is a case of lots of folks jumping on a bandwagon, or a more widespread problem? Is "Dry Max" going to become a bad word??
